The Social Media Advertising Specialist (SMAS) contributes to client success by providing foundational support for the management of paid social media accounts, primarily on Facebook, but also other platforms (Instagram, Pinterest, and more). In this position, the SMAS receives an introduction to a client's retail background, performance goals & KPIs, production requirements, and reporting needs. SMAS works closely with their AM/Pod/Sup, receiving instruction on build-out, account structure, audience segmentation, reporting requirements, and an introduction to client communication and budget management. Over time, the SMAS becomes responsible for campaign strategy, set up, ad execution and analysis, ensuring all deliverables are high quality and on time.

The Role:

Account Architecture

  • Supports builds of high quality campaigns, audiences, ad sets, and ads
  • Builds basic familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, LinkedIn, NinjaCat, and Excel/Google Sheets platforms as needed for production

Reporting & Analysis

  • Supports data pulls from multiple sources (Ads Manager, third-party Platforms, etc)
  • Can recognize performance declines and trends worth escalating (good or bad)
  • Monitors pixel and product feed/catalog trends


  • Communicates clearly and accurately with internal teammates
  • Emails are professional and free of grammar and spelling mistakes
  • Supports generation of status call documents
  • Supports communication efforts with clients as needed

Budget Management

  • Supports budget management tasks (daily, monthly, special budgets, etc) to achieve performance goals and has familiarity with decision inputs

Account Leadership

  • Maintains personal and team organization, including effective note taking

Engagement & Teamwork

  • Consistently exhibits positive and productive behavior with teammates in pod and fellow Adlucites. Is an effective collaborator and team player with both client and account teams
  • Takes initiative and exhibits curiosity - works to understand the “why” behind best practices and account performance

Must have:

  • 1-3 years relevant paid social media advertising experience
  • Basic Facebook Ads Manager familiarity 
  • Ability to analyze high-level data to translate problems into solutions
  • Excellent communication skills → both internally and externally
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Self-starter mentality
  • Familiarity with online shopping and retail

Nice to have:

  • Experience managing paid advertising campaigns for eCommerce and/or retail
  • Experience managing Pinterest, Linkedin and Twitter ad campaigns
  • A/B testing experience
  • Client relationship management experience
